Nagore Alwa Kadai

Nagore Alwa Kadai is built around one stubborn belief: a sweet should carry the memory of the hands that made it.
Seven chapters, one kitchen. Scroll to follow the story.

1957
In 1957, our family establishment was registered at No. 99, Poréar Road, Karaikal. A French-era licence records the business as a confectionery, marking an important chapter in our family’s journey.

Years of trial taught us the exact balance of ghee, sugar, and wheat that gives our alwa its signature pull and shine. That ratio has never changed — and never will.

Word travelled faster than we did. To keep up with demand, we opened a second counter in Karaikal — carried there in the same copper vessels we started with.

The next generation stepped behind the counter, bringing modern hygiene and packing standards — but never once trading the copper kadai for a shortcut.

By Diwali and Pongal, the line outside our store became a local fixture — neighbours, regulars, and strangers alike, all waiting for the same tray fresh off the flame.

Phones started ringing with orders from families who'd moved away but couldn't leave the taste behind. We began packing for weddings, offices, and homes across the state.

Today
Now the same alwa reaches doorsteps across India — ordered online, packed by hand, and made in the very same kitchen. Trusted by thousands, rated 4.5★ by over 900 customers.
